Joseph M. Murphy, Jr. – A founding partner of Murphy & Cistaro, Joseph “Bud” Murphy is a graduate of Old Dominion University and Touro College Jacob D.Fuchsberg Law Center. Following his graduation from law school in 2000, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Ernest M. Caposela, J.S.C., in the Passaic County Family Part. Mr. Murphy is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and the New Jersey District Court Bar.
Mr. Murphy’s practice has been and remains exclusively concentrated in matrimonial and family law, where he is dedicated to serving the best interests of his clients in all matters related to New Jersey family law; matrimonial litigation, divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, the division of assets, evaluations, domestic violence, pre-nuptial agreements, arbitration, mediation, and all related family law issues. Mr. Murphy is vastly experience in handling complex divorce and family law matters, which involve the engagement of a variety of experts, including forensic accountants, employability experts, real estate and personal property appraisers, child custody best interest evaluators and drug/alcohol evaluators. Bud assists clients with the valuation and distribution of businesses, professional practices and execute benefits, such as stock options and restricted stock.
Mr. Murphy is a certified mediator by the State of New Jersey and also volunteers as an expert panelist in the Morris and Somerset County Early Settlement Programs. He also serves as a Trustee of the Morris County Bar Association.
In 2011 and 2012, Mr. Murphy received an accolade by being named to the list entitled “New Jersey Super Lawyer – Rising Star” published by Thomson Reuters.
